"That's the way it is. I know it is." said Sandy with worry.
-
"But that's horrible!"
-
Sandy looked at Giselle and was silent for a moment. "My brother sort of wanted to trip the scales of light and dark. Thought of getting rid of dreams might make it easier for things to go his way."
-
"Do you mind if i ask, why your brother did this to you?"
-
Sandy smiled and looked at Giselle.
-
Giselle's face lit up again. "Great."
-
"If we can. I think I would like that." said Sandy.
-
Giselle smiled again. "Well, we can help each other."
-
Sandy gave a slight nod. "Yeah it is in a way. We both give hope, in a way, when there is so little out there."
-
Giselle smiled a tiny smile. she had never thought about it that way. Maybe it was the same with speaking to the forest and the animals. "I never thought about it that way before...maybe its the same with your dreams."
-
"There aren't that many that can heal out there. You should look at it as a gift. Some hands are meant to take life away, while some..." said Sandy as he took a hold of Giselle's hand. "While other's are meant to give it."
-
"Well, yes but healing isn't all there is to war..." Giselle sighed. "I mean its good that i know how to heal, however, i doubt i would be much good on a battlefield."
-
"You are a healer. Aren't you?" asked Sandy.
-
"I wish there was something i can do..." Giselle frowned.
-
Sandy looked around him. "Yeah it is. There seems to be that trail wherever people go."
-
Giselle smiled and nodded. "It's just a bit hard to think that this place...well that it is going to become a war place."
-
"I love it here. It seems to be quite an exciting place." said Sandy.
-
"What about you? How do you like it here?"
-
Sandy looked at Giselle and gave a slight nod. He couldn't answer that, how could he. He was a mute in his original form, so how could he know as much about communication and dialect.
-
"It's a lot more....unique than the forest kingdom." giselle smiled a tiny smile. "But it is nice, the people here are quite interesting to interact with..."
-
"I can see that. You have never been to New Light before. How are you enjoying it so far?" asked Sandy.
-
"well, i never really left the forest kingdom until now. So its kind of making me excited to get out there and see the world." Giselle laughed. "And baby tooth i guess feels that excitement."
-
"Explore, what?" asked Sandy raising his eyebrow.
-
"Yeah, she's like that. I think its because she really wants to explore."
-
Sandy smiled and looked at Baby Tooth. "She sure is a feisty little thing."
-
"Baby tooth behave yourself." Giselle laughed
-
Sandy smiled at Baby Tooth and then at Giselle. "Guess she is."
-
Baby Tooth looked less impressed by this before flying over to sandy and playfully gave him a tiny punch in the nose.
Giselle smiled a tiny smile. "I think she is ready."
-
Sandy gave a light chuckle. "I'm sure she can."
-
"i'm sure we can. Baby Tooth can help. Can't you?" she asked happily. Baby Tooth chirped excitedly
-
Sandy looked at Giselle. "Whatever it is. I hope we can find it."
-
Giselle nodded, her eyes flickered to baby tooth. "There has to be a way to get you back to normal..."
-
"Then I believe that I would have to take it." said Sandy. "I mean, the dreams have to exist or the world will exist in utter darkness."
-
Giselle thought for a moment, and glanced at Baby Tooth. "That's a very tough question. Sure, if it was meant for the better good, to help others, i would take it. I would be sad of leaving everything behind but at least i would know that i did the right thing..."
-
Sandy looked at Giselle and for the first time actually started to think. "I would like your help. A question crosses my mind, if you had a chance to be human again, would you take it, would you fear all the new things that you are leaving behind?"
-
"Well if you need help, i am more than willing to help you get back to the way you were." Giselle smiled a bright smile.
-
"For that part I am grateful, I always was close to children. They are a part of me. I recently met a little girl and it was nice that she believed in dreams. She helped me to believe in myself again. A part of me tells me that things can't ever go back to exactly the way they were before, but it would be a blessing if I can at least restore some dreams to the people who have lost them." said Sandy.
-
"I am...sort of." Giselle smiled. "It's just..well, i am still not used to all the stares." she frowned before turning to Sandy. "What about you? Aren't you a little happy that you are given the chance to really hang around children."
-
Sandy looked at Giselle and smiled. "Yet at least you are happy. Aren't you with the choice they made?"
-
"Maybe." Giselle smiled. "I have never thought about it like that before..."
-
"Maybe in your case it was destiny like that form was meant for you. I'm not saying that's true to all cases, mine included. I'm glad your willing to help." said Sandy.
-
Giselle could only smile a tiny smile. "You know, i am still not sure. I mean, sometimes i think it did help. I mean i am helping others, but as to why they changed me into this...i don't know." she said before baby tooth zipped around the two for a moment. "But i am going to keep trying to help as many as i can. You included."
-
"So did it help?" asked Sandy. "Sorry, stupid question. I mean I'm also sorry about your past."
-
"Well, it was nice for awhile, i mean i was a healer, i loved helping others, especially kids. They were always so happy to see me and knowing that I could make them feel better. Along with that though, came the constant reminder of guys trying to win my affections. Not something i was really into." she rolled her pink eyes. "Long story short, the guy i was going to get married to was killed by twilight along with many others. So, i went to the forest to ask for advice." she blushed. "I kind of talk to the trees and animals, the spirits of the forest, so i thought maybe they could help. Next thing i know, i am like this." she smiled. "And had little baby tooth here."
-
"Thanks." said Sandy with a smile. "I'm glad. So how about you and the once being human, you don't have to tell me, if you don't want to?"
-
"Well, if its any consolation...i've always believed in you." Tooth smiled.
-
Sandy listened to the conversation about the boy and began to worry himself. "I don't know, I told a little girl a couple days ago that if there are enough dreams and enough children to believe, that there would be a chance, but I'm not sure."
-
"He's pretty good, he's still healing with the psychicallly." Giselle replied. "But mentally, i am not sure. His brother was taken, according to him anyways, but it seems like he would go to any lengths to save someone important..." she felt kind of nervous talking about it. Jack didn't seem like the kind of boy that would kill but it was just odd. "Do you think you could change back?"
-
"He's my brother. I love him as much as any, even if he does evil things and I've heard about the boy. How is he faring?" asked Sandy.
-
"That's gotta be rough." Giselle replied. "I've heard he's caused quite a bit of commotion and hurt a few people." she glanced at Baby Tooth who gave her a hopeful nod to tell her. "He hurt a boy we were traveling with, Jack Frost. Luckily he's okay, but i am worried about him."
-
"The one and only." said Sandy.
-
"Oh dear." Giselle frowned, before mentally making the connection. "Then that means your brother must be...the boogieman?"
-
"Yeah I did." said Sandy. "The guy that owns the horses is my brother."
-
"You said it was sibling rivalry?" Giselle asked.
-
Sandy put is hand up to his head. "Yeah, sounds like chaos and stuff like that to me."
-
Giselle nodded, she remembered Jack mentioning something like that. "I've noticed people have been more scared, and that there have been sightings of black horses with red eyes."
-
Sandy looked sadly. "It wasn't. A sibling rivalry, that more seemed like sibling jealousy from one end. You might notice that a lot of people are having nightmares, more than ever."
-
Giselle couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah i guess so. But, i am guessing yours wasn't on accident?"
-
Sandy looked at Giselle. "So guess like we are two in the same polls, just in the opposite direction."
-
"that's so cool!" Giselle said smiling. "I used to, well i used to be human."
-
"That's correct." said Sandy with a plain expression upon his face.
-
"The sandman? As in the one that gives kids dreams?" Giselle asked
-
"Alright. I can talk, I already told a little girl. I used to be the sandman, that's what." said Sandy.
-
"If you don't mind that is." Giselle said with a tiny smile. "I won't pressure you into telling me something you don't want to."
-
Sandy ordered a cup of coffee as well. The waitress went and got the cups and everything and came back, dropped off the cups, and then went off to do her own business. "So you wanted to know, what I was before, correct?"
-
Giselle ordered a small glass of coffee and asked for a small cup of milk for Baby Tooth.
-
Sandy walked in and took a seat at the same table as Giselle. A waitress came to the table and asked for their orders.
-
Giselle nodded, feeling relief again. "Oh good." she replied, taking a seat in one of the chairs
-
"Trust me there's hardly anybody in there during the day." said Sandy with an assuring smile.
-
Giselle felt a bit nervous about doing so, she hadn't been around in her form very long during the day and was kind of scared about what people would think of her in it. But she had to be at least a little brave "Okay..."
-
"Glad you like it." said Sandy with a smile. He opened the door to the shop. "After you."
-
"aww its so cute." Giselle smiled.
-
Sandy smiled and lead the way to the little coffee shop around the corner. "Here it is." he said.
-
Giselle stood up, ignoring several stares of little kids wide eyes. "I'm ready." she said giving a tiny smile
-
"Alright." Sandy smiled. "I know of a little place around the corner." he said, putting away his guitar in a case and grabbed a hold of the handle. "Ready when you are."
-
Giselle smiled a tiny smile. "That sounds nice. I haven't had a good drink of coffee in a long time."
-
Sandy looked at her. "If you want to know, why don't I treat you to a coffee or something, in that way, we aren't talking on the streets about private matters. If you want to?"
-
"What happened to you?" giselle asked. "I mean if you don't want to tell me, i understand. But i can probably help."
-
Sandy looked at Giselle and Baby Tooth. "Well there is much about what I am that I still don't understand, so the feelings mutual. I am still glad your able to find someone to help you."
-
Giselle smiled again brighter this time as Baby Tooth chirped happily. "I don't think i would be able to do most of it without her." she replied. "It's kind of a long story on the whole fairy thing, i still don't understand most of it."
-
Sandy looked at Giselle in awe. "So your a fairy that heals. That's cool. I'm glad your mini fairy is able to help you." he said with a smile.
-
"Fairy, and a healer." Giselle smiled. "And Baby tooth here is kind of like my messenger or my helper."
-
"In a way, I'm a gypsy actually." said Sandy still smiling. "How about yourself?"
-
"You too." Giselle smiled and Baby Tooth nodded as well. "So, are you a musician?"
-
Sandy looked at Giselle and Baby Tooth. "Nice to meet both of you." he said with a smile.
-
"I'm Giselle and this here is Baby tooth." she pointed to the small hummingbird creature on her shoulder.
-
"Thanks for that." said Sandy. He was a bit tired. "The name's Sandy and you are?"
-
"Oh, no no, i don't want to impose. If you are tired you can rest. I don't mind." Giselle smiled
-
Sandy looked at the feathered maiden in front of her and smiled. "Thanks." he said a bit timidly. "If you want I could sing you another song? I guess."
-
She still kept clapping. "You were wonderful." Giselle said flying over to him. "I loved your music."
-
Sandy just continued to sing and dance. He was earning a quite a bit of cash. He stopped the song at the end and the people applauded and then went on there merry way. He stopped and decided to take a break.
-
Giselle was having quite a nice time in the New Light kingdom. It was good to see so many people working together. Especially to stop something like Twilight which was filled with many bad people. However, today seemed like a more fun day than a training day. Spreading her feathers out, she took to the sky before hearing a song. It was beautiful. Flight took hold of her as she flew towards the music
-
Sandy was out in the corner of the streets singing and dancing. It was his way of trying to earn his living and to bring a little bit of happiness into the world. The sun was shinning brightly that day. It was the only thing that he can do, now that he was a human, with mini dream powers. He sang to the crowd.
